A few weekends ago we went to the park and flew Luke's airplane from Uncle Floyd! It was a beautiful day and we tucked our adult worries away to become little kids again with Chloe and Luke! We encountered brutal crash landings, but the more we tried, the better we landed the plane. The scene reminded me of movies where Louis Armstrong or Frank Sinatra music plays in the background while the family runs around in slow motion with all smiles and everything is perfect! You know what I am talking about? ;)
Below is a link to a video of us flying the plane!
Chloe learned how to make bread! On a very busy day (aren't they all?), I needed to make some bread. I thought it would be a perfect learning moment for Chloe! I showed her how to measure and what to do. Then, I washed dishes while I gave her instructions on how much of each ingredient she needed. I helped with measuring the liquid (I have used my glass measuring cups so much that all the numbers have rubbed off. Haha!). I know exactly where to stop without the numbers. I also helped with the oven! Other than that, she did everything on her own! I am so proud of her! I am excited for all the "Home Ec." classes I can have with her! She is begs me to teach her sewing (she LOVES fashion).
P.S. Her bread was amazing!
Luke had a week of learning science safety. Below is a link of him presenting his project!
Chloe balanced on a bike for a few seconds!! This may seem small, but it is a huge accomplishment for her! We borrowed a friend's bike for Chloe to practice riding and balancing. I have researched and found a bike her size with training wheels. She doesn't know how to ride without them yet, but that is ok! I am so happy that SHE BALANCED!! Way to go, Chlo-bug!
We had two more science projects this past week!
Luke weighed rocks on a scale. We didn't have a scale, so we used resources around the house to make one -- two plastic cups, a string, and a hanger. Luke found a large rock and discovered that he would need eight smaller rocks to balance the scale. He measured many more items over the course of the day (balls, small toys, etc.).
Chloe is learning about different types of matter. This week she (and Luke) turned liquid into a solid that ended up being kind of bouncy. We enjoyed measuring (using math skills), mixing, stirring, and watching the liquid change into a solid! As Lukie said in his video, "Science Rules!".
Favorite picture of the past few weeks! ⬇ I took this while they were spending time together. Their relationship has really blossomed over the past four weeks!! This is another example to me that the Lord wanted us to homeschool! Life is great and I am looking forward to all the adventures the Lord has in store for us!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
P.S. Today marks 11 years since Jared proposed! Check out a few pictures from that night!
